Alan Bromley

Mr. Bromley, a former investigate reporter and attorney, is an often-published columnist, satirist and poet who comments on political and social issues of the day.

Born in New York City, and raised in northern New Jersey, he came to national attention as the lead investigative reporter on “The Karen Silkwood” story, when he lived in Oklahoma City.

After leaving Oklahoma, where he became a “persona non grata” for his investigative reporting prowess, he returned to New York City and became a financial journalist for Institutional Investor and McGraw Hill, as well as a freelance writer for The Soho Weekly News.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Bromley created The Bromley Group Inc., a public relations firm specializing in financial and legal public relations and crisis management, and became a contributing writer for The New York Law Journal.

After the terrorist attack on “9/11” 2001, Mr. Bromley, who was scheduled to attend a meeting that day atop the World Trade Center, he decided to return full-time to writing.

Since then, his opinion pieces and columns have frequently been published in The Wall Street Journal (OpinionJournal.com), The New York Sun and The New York Observer. His writings, while causing wrath among many, have received highly acclaimed reviews from disparate sources and organizations, including The New York Press, which stated… “Alan Bromley has just contributed one of the most valuable op-eds of this political season…” (OpinionJournal.com, May 3, 2004, “Leftport, Connecticut) and from The Black Republican (April 2004) for the same column, as well as from the esteemed The Claremont Institute, which said of his “Fear and Loathing in Manhattan” (OpinionJournal.com., Sept. 9, 2004) “…Granted, Mr. Bromley comes from a radical political background, but he shows the insight into human psychology that those of us living outside…the academic fever swamps learned to appreciate much when we read Publius’ sobering strictures on human nature in The Federalist. Note the power of reason when focused like a laser beam on the irrational person…”

Long, an amateur poet, most recently Mr. Bromley has turned his political and social commentary into poetry – and lyrics. He has recently signed a recording contract with Threshold Music.

“I always believed that poetry is the most beautiful, compelling and concise way express oneself, ” Mr. Bromley said upon signing with Threshold Music, “and coupling verse with music brings thoughts and emotions to life.”

Mr. Bromley lives in Manhattan with his wife Karen, and has two daughters, Leah and Andrea.
